Complete instructions for pickups

Starting in 2023, we will be hosting one-day pickup events in select cities in New England. Through the coordination of multiple pickups in a single day, these events allow us to serve more distant communities where individual, small-volume pickups would be inefficient. All pickups (individual and through events) are free of charge and no-contact.

Pickup events are intended for smaller volumes of packing materials up to 60 gallons / 8 cubic feet, or about two large, outdoor trash bags. If you have larger quantities to recycle, or if you have materials to recycle but your city does not have an event scheduled, use the "Contact Us" tab to inquire about a pickup.

For 2023 events, we will be collecting ONLY PACKING PEANUTS. Mixed packages that include packing peanuts along with other materials (bubble wrap, air pillows, foam blocks) may be accepted at our discretion. Otherwise, air pillows and bubble wrap will only be accepted by drop-off at our location.

NOTE: Clean, deflated air pillows and bubble wrap (NO tape or stickers attached) can also be recycled with plastic bags at many grocery stores and retail outlets.

1. Use the "Contact Us" tab above to request a pickup. The following minimum details are required: name of contact person, GPS address of the pickup location, email address, and a description of the volume and type of materials to be picked up.
2. We will send you an email to confirm your pickup request. NOTE: The pickup is not confirmed until you receive our confirmation email. If you do not hear back from us within 48 hours, re-send the request.
3. Seal all boxes / bags to prevent contents from spilling. Boxes should be closed and taped shut. Bags should be tied shut and any opening at the top sealed with tape or by putting the first bag upside-down into a second bag.
4. Label each box or bag with the words "Peanut Planet".

1. Pickups will begin at noon. Please have all materials in the pickup location prior to this time.
2. Place all bags / boxes for pickup outdoors. The location must be visible from the street and protected from rain and wind, such as a front porch or under an awning.
3. Tell us the exact location of the materials to be picked up either by email or through the "Contact Us" tab.
4. We will be unable to accept packing materials if: containers are not at the pickup location when we arrive; containers are not labeled with "Peanut Planet"; or we cannot find the pickup location.
5. We will send a confirmation email after successful pickup of the materials. This email may arrive several hours after the pickup.
